Up-Skilling • Book Making

  • Gateway Farm 10540 Joy Road Plymouth, MI, 48170 United States (map)

Unleash your creativity and dive into the craft of bookmaking. Join us for a hands-on experience where you'll learn the art of binding, stitching and crafting your own unique book. From selecting materials to adding personal touches, discover the joy of bringing your stories to life between the pages at our inspiring bookmaking workshop.

Participants will walk away with a handmade bound book! Depending on the paper you bring, it could be a sketchbook or journal.

Bring your own papers for your book, blank or with text. Keep in mind the pages will be folded in half to make the book and we have the supplies to cut your pages to the size you desire. Be as adventurous as you would like in what paper you decide to bring! You are also invited to bring fabric or special papers to be your book cover. We will provide options but if you have anything specific in mind, please bring it along.

This workshop will teach coptic binding and will offer instructional videos for reference during the workshop (bring a phone or device if it's helpful for viewing) as well as handouts and in-person instruction. You are welcome to ask about other binding techniques as well.
