    • Sea salt – just a pinch to help bring out the nutty flavors of the oats.

Optional - The key to a well rounded hearty bowl of oatmeal is a great mix of spices, fruit, seeds and nuts added based on your preference.

    • Spices – Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Allspice, and/or Vanilla Extract

    • Seeds - Pumpkin, Sunflower, Flax and/or Chia

    • Nuts – Pecan, Almonds, Walnuts, Macadamia, Cashew, Peanut Butter, really anything you like

    • Veggies - Shredded carrots, zucchini, pumpkin puree, kale, seaweed, or small bits os cauliflower

    • Toppings - Maple syurp, honey, yogurt, cold milks, eggs, granola, more nuts and fresh fruit as desired

    Directions

Step 1: Add rolled oats, spices, seeds, nuts, fruit, water or milk and a dash of salt to a pot and heat over medium/high heat. No need to be precise - in the Garden Juju Kitchen we use the handful method - for each person we add 1 handful of oats, 1 handful of mixed seeds and nuts and 1 handful of fruit, then add our favorite spices cover with with water.

Step 2: Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. It’s ready when the oats have soaked up most of the liquid and are nice and creamy. You can always add more water when cooking as needed. Transfer oats to a bowl and add your favorite toppings.
